Hang out for beer and a hands-on, on-site bike repair workshop with the Kiwanis Bike Program, focused on keeping your gear trail-ready, because caring for the trails also means caring for how we move through them.
Come connect with your local outdoor community, learn practical skills, and celebrate the work that preserves the places we love. All experience levels welcome.
Dillon Osleger is a trail builder, mountain athlete, environmental advocate and scientist driving the outdoor communities’ narrative on climate, conservation and access. He resides in Truckee (the traditional and uncoded lands and territories of the Washoe Tribe) and travels the American West working to better the trail and conservation conditions across basin, range and crest. His writing on environment and public lands has appeared in High Country News, Outside Magazine, Mountain Gazette, Earth and Planetary Science Letters, and in his debut book - Trail Work - which received praise from Bill McKibben, Robert Moor, Rick Ridgeway, and Publishers Weekly as a foundational text on public lands and their value beyond solely recreation.
Brennan Lagasse wears several professional hats but is most regularly identified as a backcountry skier and ski guide, as well as an Assistant Professor of Sustainability at the University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe. He fights to protect wild places and works closely with the Tahoe Backcountry Alliance and the Winter Wildlands Alliance to advocate for access to the outdoors and the protection of public lands. His most recent multi-year effort focuses on the many intersecting issues surrounding protecting the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Leveraging his diverse skill set, Brennan continues working with the Gwich’in tribe and other Arctic Refuge allies to raise awareness, and get people activated around the implications involved in allowing the last 5 percent of protected land on the Alaskan North Slope to be lost like the other 95 percent to fossil fuel development.
